The Finger Lakes region is known for it's beautiful landscape, wide variety of agricultural products, and small wineries. It is in the heart of this region where you will find Golden Oak Farm. Our farm is located about 30 minutes south of Rochester, New York overlooking Honeoye Lake. Golden Oak Farm is family owned and operated. We have been working together as a family for over 20 years. We started out raising Trakeneir horses for dressage competitions, and continue to breed our horses on a much smaller scale. Currently we have shifted our focus to our alpacas. Since 2000 Golden Oak Farm has been working to establish a herd of high quality alpacas. Golden Oak Farm has developed the term "Herd Micro-Management". We take every aspect of herd management and nit pick every detail. By keeping our groups of animals small we are able minimize any stress that could effect the health of our animals. Also small groups of animals make it easy to keep track of each individual animal's eating behavior, bathroom behavior, and relationships with other animals. It is our goal to raise genetically superior, healthy, and happy alpacas.
